Josef Chromy NV Tasmanian Cuvee

Pale straw with a lively fine bead. Aromas of crisp Granny Smith apple and citrus. A lively palate of crunchy green apple and lemon with hints of toasted biscuit. Richness and complexity in its youth thanks to delicate aldehydic layering.

Pinot Noir (57%), Chardonnay (42%) with a dash of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris. Sourced from our estate vineyard at Relbia in northern Tasmania.

Wine Profile
"Sourced from Chromy’s Relbia estate just out of Launceston, this is a style that captures the cool citrus rind and red apple crunch of the Tamar Valley, with the strawberry and red cherry depth of pinot noir. Subtle biscuity complexity is the product of 18 months on lees. It concludes with focused acidity and a note of candied dosage. 90 points." - Tyson Stelzer, Australian Sparkling Report 2017

Whole bunches of hand-picked fruit are gently pressed to ensure delicate flavours. After primary ferment the wine is tiraged with no malolactic fermentation and disgorged after 18 months on yeast lees to retain crisp, fresh flavours.
