Colour: Medium salmon with a pink hue

Aroma: Inviting nose, packed with red fruit and floral aromas of strawberries and cream, fresh raspberries, rose petals, blushed peach skin and a hint of white chocolate.

Palate: The wine is juicy and moreish. Flavours of raspberry, peach and blood orange are supported by refreshing acidity and a savoury finish. The wine has a good texture, silky tannins and a lovely phenolic grip – a true “gastro wine”!

Grapes: Pinot Noir (80%), Riesling (20%)

Winemaking:

Pinot Noir grapes from our Relbia Estate Vineyard were picked in mid March at optimal ripeness for Rose’ production, destemmed, and allowed to rest on the skins for a few hours until desired colour pick up was achieved.

The must was then transferred into the press, where the free-flowing juice (the “free run”) was separated from the harder pressings. Using only the free run portion in the production of this Rose’, allows us to keep the phenolics (bitter/astringent flavours) in check and to maximise fruit purity and aromatic expression.

The free run juice was clarified before a cool alcoholic fermentation kicked off. A small percentage inclusion of Riesling was carried out post fermentation for added freshness and citrusy drive.

The resulting wine was left in tank for a short maturation on lees to build body and texture. It was then gently fined, filtered and bottled in late September 2024.

Cellaring: To enjoy this wine in its peak freshness drink now until 2027

Serving: Serve with grilled fish and an array of Mediterranean inspired salads

Technical: pH 3.18 / TA 6.57 / Alc. 13.7% / G/F 2.96 g/L

Release: May 2025

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
'Salmon pink with aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and red cherry along with hints of white flowers, stone, red lollies, almond blossom, redcurrant jelly, ruby red grapefruit and a suggestion of lemon zest. Ditto on the palate – savoury, focused and pretty flippin' moreish on a sultry day with a board of charcuterie. There's certainly a lot to like here, and it's a rosé that is a joy to drink. And that's the point, innit?' ~ Dave Brookes, Halliday
