2019 Josef Chromy Block 103 Pinot Noir
Deep, dense magenta in colour, the Block 103 shows more toast and oak than the Block 115 Pinot Noir. Charred spice, roasted paprika and a hint of pepper overlay dark red fruits. Coiled and waiting to release, this wine will reward cellaring up to 2034. 580 bottles produced from 2 barrels.

'Hand-picked fruit from a single vineyard. 25% whole bunches. Two select barrels, aged separately for 9 months (one in new oak, the other in 3yo French oak barrique) followed by a further 5 months in 3yo barriques for both barrels. Unfined and unfiltered. Epitomising the inimitable character of Chromy's Relbia vineyard, this block is laden with sour cherries and all the exotic spice and dried herbs of whole-bunch fermentation. A core of glossy blackberry fruit is well structured by long-enduring tannins.' - Tyson Stelzer, Wine Companion
