2008 ZDAR Vintage
95 pts, Tyson Stelzer - Australian Sparkling Report 2020 - 'A fantastic exemplar for the endurance and energy of Tasmanian sparkling, this is a brilliantly lively cuvée at 12 years of age, sporting a bright, pale straw hue. Eleven years on lees has coaxed out layers of almond meal, marzipan, toasted coconut and macaron, while upholding radiant zest and undeviating focus. Chardonnay takes the lead in lemon, white peach and apple, while the exuberant pinot noir of the Chromy site speaks in pretty layers of red berry fruits that swirl upward with time in the glass to a magnificent vortex of violets, black cherries and blackberries. The creamy, harmonising influence of long lees age brings magnificent seamlessness to a long finish, while the malic acid backbone that sets apart the Chromy style imparts a zap of acid drive that infuses incredible potential and promises another decade of life yet.'
5 stars, Winewise - 'The nose is multi-faceted, showing freshly baked croissant and toasted nuts with a hint of leatherwood honey. The palate is impressively long and powerful, with a fine mousse and cleansing acidity.'
